Description

This Cognac is not Millésimé, but like N°71 it can benefit from a minimum age indication of 36 years. Produced on the limestone hillsides of Vars, at an altitude of around one hundred meters (Rare to Cognac where the average altitude is around 20 meters), this lot composed of several barrels of old Cognacs, all of which are remarkable, has undergone two successive inheritances. In 1982, the producer's widow inherited the latter, and ceased to farm on her husband's death. In 2017, she in turn passed away, and bequeathed the precious eaux-de-vie produced by her late husband to her children. I had the opportunity to buy back these casks from them, including this one, which was housed quite distinctly from the other lots in the cellar of the son, himself a farmer on his parents' land.
